Chef Savvas He studied for a year Culinary Arts at Kes College and then he continued his studies in Culinary Arts at the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus (HHIC). He also studied at the University of Derby in England, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science, Professional Culinary Arts. He also obtained a Master of Arts in Education from the University of the West of England, Bristol (Alexander College Cyprus). Savvas is a member of WACS and Euro – Toques Cyprus.

Savvas began his culinary career in 2006 in the hospitality industry. On completing his course at the University of Derby, Savvas became Executive chef at the Archontiko Papadopoulou restaurant. He worked for 6 years at Le Meridien Spa and Resorts in Limassol and was also an Instructor of Culinary Arts at American College in Nicosia and he was the Executive Chef of The Fish Market in Limassol. Now he is a Executive consultant chef at the Cavo Maris Beach hotel at Protaras and for restaurants around Cyprus, and Culinary Instructor at the Higher Hotel Institute of Cyprus.

His special love about the traditional Cypriot cuisine and the spread of it, made him participate in many domestic and international culinary competitions. He won many awards in domestic as well as in international competitions. Savvas honoured his country, Cyprus and the Cypriot cuisine when he won the title of the Junior Chef International. Taking part in the 8th International Istanbul Gastronomy Festival, Savvas won the greatest distinction so far in his career, when between 35 countries from all over the world; he won the gold award for the “Junior Golden Chef of the Year (International) 2010”.
