Juan Diego did a great job. There were 12 of us on the trip. We had breakfasts, lunches, and dinner prepared by him and his monther. He was responsive to our requests / in shaping the menu. He was very nice and engaging and the food was great. Couldn't have asked for anything else.

We had two dinners with Chef Juan and both were amazing! He is very professional and was attentive to all of our requests. He was very accommodating with helping bake a wedding cake for us on top of the dinners he made. The food was delicious and was ready on time and was more than we had asked for! Would definitely recommend chef Juan for your experience!

Chef Diego was amazing and his food sublime. Loved his custom made menu and he even cooked a special secondary menu for our vegetarian friend that was just as special and unique. He arrived exactly on time with an assistant and was a pleasure to talk to, answering our questions and just being interesting to talk to in both English and Spanish.

Chef Diego was amazing. He’s very patient & knowledgeable. It was great to have a young chef with a lot of experience. I had no complaints, the food tasted wonderful ! We were pleasantly surprised !

We booked this experience for our last night after traveling 10 days in Costa Rica. This was by far our favorite thing we decided to do on our trip. I can not say enough good things about Juan and Tony and the incredible experience they created for our group. We will forever remember this experience and the fantastic meal they made for us. Thank you so much for the wonderful meal. It was beyond delicious and we will never forget it!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Five Stars for Chef Juan Diego!! Everything about him was perfect. The meal was delicious and he was kind, considerate, everything we hoped for. I am giving him an outstanding review. My problem, and this is the only bad review I’ve ever given on Airbnb after well over 50 stays and experiences, is with Take A Chef. I would never use them again. I’m the end, Airbnb intervened and resolved the issue I had with them, so kudos to Airbnb. But I would never recommend them. (They wanted to cancel our reservation without refund because they said I didn’t give them enough notice on menu choice. It’s true, I should have gotten back to them sooner! But they never reached out to me a single time in over a month since I made the reservation to check on my menu choice. Last communication from them was December 7 for a January 9 reservation. When I reached out to them the morning of January 8 to apologize, all they said was that it was too late and they were keeping my money. The dinner was for my daughter’s 30th birthday. I totally understand they need prep time (I asked them to have the chef pick the menu so it would be as easy as possible). I would have expected communication from them at least 72 hours in advance confirming and asking for our choice. Not zero communication and then “too bad for you.” Airbnb agreed with me, fortunately. We were so grateful for the experience we had with Diego, but they aren’t very nice at Take A Chef and I will never support them again.

We just had some of the best experiences and foods of the highest quality. The chef and his helper were both so wonderful and kind. The cuisine was of the finest caliber, and the presentation was flawless. This made my partner and I overjoyed. Definitely going to schedule him when we come back in a few months. If you have even the slightest thought of scheduling this event, DO IT!

I highly recommend this unique experience in Jaco Beach. This fabulous and friendly dynamic duo (cousins Chef Juan Diego and Malania) will come to you wherever you are, make a delicious 3-course, restaurant-quality meal in your kitchen, serve it all beautifully and then clean everything up before they leave. We had shrimp with fried plantains and avocado in a peanut sauce, red snapper with tomato rice and mushrooms, and lemon ice cream with red berry meringues and gooseberry sauce. Really extraordinary!! Do yourself a favor and book this experience if you ever have a chance!!

Diego did an awesome job preparing our dinner. He was so friendly and took the time to explain the foods and flavors. He was also great with my husband, who is learning Spanish, teaching him different words for the foods and cooking methods. Definitely a great experience!!

This was awesome. We met 2 really cool people (chef and assistant), learned some stuff about the culture, helped cook, and ate yummy food, right at the comfort of our own AirBnB. Highly recommend!
