Chef Kazuki Ushiro

We had such a spectacular experience for our American family of 10. It was our first visit to Japan and this was a true highlight. Every bite was incredible. And we were able to customize a menu for those who couldn’t eat meat or fish. Highly recommended.

We used take a chef to hire a private chef while traveling in Japan. We are from the US and had never heard of this website before, but wanted a private chef to come to our Airbnb and cook a meal to celebrate our friends engagement that took place that day. The take a chef service was absolutely incredible. I was not getting matched with a chef so I texted with customer support and they immediately responded and helped connect me with a chef who gave me a bid the next day. Chef Kazuki was phenomenal/ outstanding / incredible I can’t give enough praise to him. He was so responsive to everything, my messages, my requests, my budget, allergies, location etc. He drove two hours from Tokyo to lake kawaguchiko for us, brought almost all the vegetables that he grew in his OWN GARDEN! They were phenomenal. He printed out menus for us, and had an absolutely beautiful presentation of the food on our plates, even with limited resources in our Airbnb. The food he made was AMAZING! The sashimi was the best we had yet in Japan, the wagyu was absolutely delicious and the sauces he made from scratch were delicious. He even had another woman helping him serve and wash dishes, so we had two people in our home for such an incredibly reasonable price. The food came out so quickly and chef kazu was so professional and kind. He gave us recommendations for places to go on the next leg of our trip too. I cannot sing enough praise for this service and this chef and I wish him well, he is so talented. So, if you are thinking of booking, please do and tip your chef well because you are about to have the meal of a lifetime

Chef Kazu was a total hit. He was prompt, knowledgeable and courteous in all our pre-dinner discussions (including menu planning). He arrived on time, to the minute. He was totally discrete as he busied himself in the kitchen preparing. Once the meal was served it was a feast of never ending beautifully arranged dishes, each had a story and each was mouthwatering. If we could give him 11 out of 10 we would. Wonderful. Jeremy

Amazing experience with Chef Kazu! Excellent food very well presented. Chef Kazu is very particular about the ingredients and uses vegetables and greens grown in his own organic garden. We had a wonderful experience at home instead when not being able to go to the restaurant reservations we made due to COVID restrictions. But this was even better! Top notch food and restaurant experience in the comfort of your own home. Will definitely use this service again, and I highly recommend chef Kazu.

Chef Kazu was great! He made our special occasion perfect. His dishes were delicious and well presented. He proposed and executed an 8-course French menu perfectly and left our kitchen cleaner than it was when he arrived. We hardly knew he was there until it was time for the next course, but all of our interactions were very friendly and fun. You won’t be disappointed if you hire this chef!

This is my first time booking through Take A Chef and it was great. I submitted my request form and very quickly Chef Kazu responded to my request and sent me a sample menu which he then customized to our tastes. On the day Chef Kazu arrived on time, quickly and quietly set himself up and prepared food and was ready to serve at the requested time as well. All of his vegetables, fruits and herbs were grown by him and picked fresh, just a couple of hours before our dinner! Each one of his dishes were beautifully presented and tasted amazing. When the course was over, again he quickly and quietly packed up and left. Chef Kazu was friendly and experienced chef who takes pride in his cooking and knows exactly where he sourced each ingredient. Next time I am looking for a chef I'ld definitely hire him again. Highly recommend him!!

Chef Kazu was professional, attentive and provided our first at home dining experience to be a wonderful experience. His course was extremely thought out and was attentive throughout the process. I wonderful experience and we hope to have him again soon!
