Chef Gerardo D’aversa

I grew up in a small town in Southern Italy in Campania region. In the South of Italy, food is a central part of everyday life. Culture, tradition, and family are deeply connected to what we eat. My passion for cooking comes from my family, where I learned the foundations of true traditional Italian cuisine. My journey started as a pizza maker, a craft that has deep roots in the area where I come from. Later, I studied at ALMA, The International School of Italian Cuisine founded by Gualtiero Marchesi, and gained experience working in restaurants both in Italy and abroad. Today I continue my journey in the kitchen with the same passion I started with. I believe that a good chef can also be recognized by what they grew up eating and the food culture they come from. In this sense, I consider myself very fortunate.
