Sebastian Borchardt began his professional culinary career in Berlin, Germany, within the German dual vocational education system (IHK).
I work across India and internationally and can be booked for private dining, luxury events, weddings, corporate functions, and curated chef-led experiences.
From 2005 to 2008, he completed a three-year dual apprenticeship as a chef (Koch) at the restaurant Walhalla in Berlin, combining practical kitchen training with formal vocational education certified by the IHK. During this period, the restaurant specialized in German and Mediterranean cuisine.
After successfully completing his apprenticeship, he continued working at Walhalla as a Chef in 2008, and was promoted to Head Chef in 2009.
In 2010, he moved to the restaurant Unter den Eichen in Berlin, where he worked as a Chef, focusing on German and French cuisine. In 2012, he advanced to the position of Head Chef at the same restaurant.
In 2014, Sebastian Borchardt relocated to India. In 2016, he opened and operated the restaurant Sakura Sushi in Auroville, specializing in Japanese cuisine; German Bakery and Smoked Artisanal foods, like German Style Hams, Sausages, etc.
In 2017, he founded Baos & Bubbles, an Asian fusion restaurant combining modern street food concepts with refined techniques.
