Born in Galicia, a vibrant region in northwestern Spain known internationally as a foodie paradise, since an early age, I developed a passion for artisanal yet modern cuisine. My culinary explorations and outstanding skills brought me all the way to elBulli, the famed Michelin three-star restaurant, helmed by Spanish chef Ferran Adrià.

This is where I learned about food as a form of artistic expression. After elBulli served its final meal, I decided to travel the world to discover new flavours, recipes and techniques to enhance my repertoire.

Gula Bangkok is my latest top-notch culinary venture, from where I continue to push the boundaries of avant-garde cuisine with cutting-edge techniques and modernist artistry through ever-evolving signature seasonal menus.

Based on my knowledge, intuition and experimentation, Gula Bangkok offers the ultimate culinary art experience in town, a journey designed to shock and surprise as well as delight.

Very high quality dining experience by Jacobo. He gave us the Spanish menu with 4-course and dessert. Seafood paella is stunning. Dessert chocolate mousse with passion fruit and appetizer burrata cheese with anchovy is extraordinary as well. Highly recommended dining experience.

Jacobo went above and beyond to make our evening so magical. From extras for birthday celebrations, to going out his way to come a day earlier due to my incorrect booking date. He took time out his day which he had planned with his family to come with 4 hrs notice a day sooner. Due to last minute changes, he needed to change the menu depending on what materials were available to buy on the day. I must say, it was tasted so good, we have never eaten so much! Lovely chef, lovely personality, and goes out his way to make your day special. I’m pleased to have chosen Jacobo to have made our day special. Reviews are important to give peace of mind when booking a chef, so I hope I’ve given him enough credit.

Absolutely breathtaking experience! Every single dish was amazing and Jacobo and his wife were an absolute pleasure. The best food our kitchen has ever known. 100% recommended.

Jacobo cooked us a Christmas dinner with a Spanish twist which was truly amazing! We were blown away by the quality and taste of all of the courses Jacobo prepared. He created a menu based on our initial request and it was perfect. Jacobo is also very friendly and accommodating and we couldn’t recommend him enough!
