Chef Stipe Vujević

Chef Stipe and his Sous Chef, Andrea, were absolutely incredible and delivered an experience that surpassed our expectations! We asked for a menu of local Croatian food and a sampling of local olive oil and fresh bread. To our absolute delight, we were treated with gorgeous fresh bread that was made personally by Chef Stipe in the morning. He and Andrea also sourced some exclusive and fantastic olive oil samples from local farms - what a treat! It only got better from there. We enjoyed an amazing smoked fish spread, truffle pasta, and a sampling of meat and vegetables that they grilled right in our very own barbeque pit! If you haven't been to Croatia, a barbeque is a large outside fireplace that requires precision technique to both get the fire going and also break it down to get the coals just right for cooking. The barbeque effort created a fun dinner-theater atmosphere and our group of 10 enjoyed every minute of it. It's also important to note that both Chef Stipe and Sous Chef Andrea are very knowledgeable when it comes to Croatian wines. Our villa was stocked with some good wines but the chefs were masterful with pairings. If this wasn't enough, our desserts were sourced from an incredible pastry chef who is very well known in Split. There were options for everyone - chocolate, cream, fruit - absolutely delicious. I'm a huge fan of French pastries and desserts and every single option was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. Now - we expected a nice meal but the chefs were both very personable and really went out of their way to make our evening special. And their work ethic is amazing. The chefs spent days sourcing and prepping for our event, which was evident in the quality of the food and their presentation of each dish. Additionally, they travelled from Split by ferry to Brac and back, with lengthy drives required to reach both ferry crossings, on the day of our event. But one final detail will absolutely blow your mind. Sous Chef Andrea had become a new father to a baby girl the day before our event. He took care to make his wife and baby comfortable with relatives but then joined Chef Stipe in working incredibly hard to make our evening incredibly memorable. I sincerely can't thank them enough for all the energy, quality, and attention to detail they put into our event. We will absolutely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a talented Chef and a great event experience.

Everything was perfect for my honeymoon and my wife’s 30th bday. Professional and everything tasted perfect. The kitchen looked like no one was in it cooking after they cleaned and left. The chef regaled us with the origins of the food, and was kind enough to provide recommendations for the rest of our trip. The level of service and accommodation provided was far beyond our expectations.

Chef Stipe and his assistant Andre (sp) were AMAZING! From the time they arrived they were very friendly engaging and attentive to our needs. They created such an amazing atmosphere for us to celebrate our anniversary. Their food and wine knowledge was impeccable. The food was to die for and the portions were huge! The entire experience was second to none! I will be getting in touch with them again the next time we are in the area!

We are so happy we went for Take a Chef and the incredible Chef Stipe! The food was really amazing! The Chef and the waiter made us feel very relaxed in our home. We had bought some wine ourself and while we were getting ready, and the chef was preparing the food, the waiter had read about the wine and paired it perfectly to our food. They were funny, attentive and very friendly and the food was SO good!! The experience made us feel special and it was truly an incredible experience!

The overall experience was incredible. Chef Stipe’s food first and foremost was the highlight of everything. Each course was better then the next. The communication was easy and attentive. I highly recommend the wine paring also. The portions were huge and it would be impossible to leave the meal hungry. Everyone on the trip agreed it was the best meal we had on the trip and that included a Michelin starred restaurant we ate at earlier in the trip. The kitchen was left spotless. Chef Stipe and the Sommelier even stayed after dinner for a drink to tell us about the area. If you are in the Split area don’t hesitate at all to go with Chef Stipe and his team. I couldn’t recommend the entire experience more highly.

Chef Stipe and his partner gave twelve of us a birthday dining experience to remember on Brach. They came all the way from Split and stayed all night cooking us 4 amazing courses all tailored to each of our orders (we had some dietary needs amongst us). Everyone raved about the food (chef somehow did the main cooking on the grill that I doubt I could cook a hotdog on) which had such a diverse set of flavors. The waiter even paired the wines we had bought throughout our time in Croatia perfectly. They made sure to clean up perfectly and chatted with us (at our request) after dinner to get to know them and they're stories. A+++ experience.

The highlight of our vacation was by far the dinner with Stipe and Andrea! It was my birthday and they made it a very special moment. Extraordinary food, service & flexibility! If you have a chance to book this team, do not hesitate. It will be an unforgettable evening. BR Anton

Chef Stipe was a pleasure to work with from menu planning to the meal itself. The produce & fish were incredibly fresh, all the food perfectly cooked, very well presented and tasted delicious. From arrival & set up to clean up, everything was handled most professionally. The most important- we could tell the Chef team really wanted our group of 9 to have a great time at the table. And we did!
