My'history'in'the'kitchen'began'over'20'years'ago'as'I'was'finishing'my'cooking' apprenticeship.'At'the'age'of'20,'I'wanted'to'travel'and'gain'more'experience'in'various'food' cultures.'My'ambition'and'desire'to'see'the'world'led'me'to'the'Middle'East'with'the'aim'of' learning'the'oriental'food'culture.'There'I'was'amazed'by'the'use'of'fresh'ingredients'for'all' types'of'dishes'without'exception:'fresh'meat,'vegetables,'fruits,'spices'and'herbs.'I'started' my'career'in'the'Middle'East'by'working'at'the'American'Colony'Hotel'in'Jerusalem'as'a' Pastry'Chef'ans'was'later'promoted'to'an'Executive'Assistant'Chef.'The'excellent'work' environment'there,'propelled'by'great'communication'and'understanding,'led'to'a' productive'experience'of'both'sharing'my'knowledge'of'the'European'kitchen'with'the'locals' as'well'as'learning'Oriental'dishes'from'them.'Since'I'had'ample'experience'as'a'pastry'chef,' I'was'then'asked'to'help'open'a'„Swiss'Patisserie“'at'the'Ambassador'Hotel'in'Jerusalem,' which'was'a'great'success.'After'working'for'10'years'at'the'American'Consulate'in' Jerusalem,'I'left'for'Switzerland'because'of'the'ongoing'political'conflict.'
