Chef Anja Fir

Hey! I am a passionate amateur cook, who has been cooking for friends and family for the past 4 years. I am a MasterChef Slovenia 2023 contestant. I love hosting brunches and dinners, accompanied with a nice wine and cocktail selection. I love hosting because I can connect better with my guests, make a true connection with them and therefore I can build a homely atmosphere easily. I find comfort in Italian food - who does not love a good pasta? But recently I have found myself enchanted with "homely" food we used to eat as children, but deconstructed and upgraded into a more high cuisine dishes. I would say my cooking style is that of a bistro cook, but I really enjoy mixing tradition with asian and mediterranean flavors. My forte would be starters and main courses, but I am also quite "fluent" in making desserts - or at least at eating them!

When cooking, I rarely take a cookbook in my hands, because I love to experiment with food - either making something I saw somewhere, or something I tried while traveling.

For me, cooking is a means of de-stressing and a way to learn new things. I am not professionally schooled in the culinary arts, but I invest myself in learning about different techniques, development of recipes and bringing together menus that work seamlessly and caress the soul.

I am 29 years old, I come from Ljubljana and I speak English, Slovene and Croatian.
