Get to know me better

Lover of all that is culinary.

From a multicultural family background, I was born and raised in Jamaica. I later moved to the US and earned by Bachelors of Science in Culinary Arts in a four year program at Johnson & Wales University (Providence, Rhode Island Campus). Along with my passion for the kitchen, I have been able to work in some of Jamaica's top hotel kitchens like Round Hill Hotel and Villas, and also been able to gain valuable knowledge of fine dining in a few of Miami's top restaurants such as Azul at the Mandarin Oriental and most notably Alter where I worked as Sous Chef. After a little over 6 years I took on the opportunity to lead a kitchen as Chef de Cuisine at a brand new restaurant called Summerhouse in my home country, specializing in contemporary Caribbean cuisine.

I try not to put a limit to the type of food that I make, and draw inspiration from all over the world while continuously trying to learn and evolve.

More about me

For me, cooking is...

A form of self expression, like an art form but better because it not only nurtures the soul but also the body.

I learned to cook at...

A very early age under the tutelage of none other than my awesome mother. Later, I graduated from culinary school at Johnson & Wales University.

A cooking secret...

is my palate. I try to taste as much as I can from prep work to execution. Balance of flavors and texture is important in every cuisine.
