It was an incredible experience for our couple to have Chef Brandon Rodrigues with us the whole day! We discussed the menu in details and main requirement not to add spices few days before. I appreciate it was a challenge from the beginning, but Chef Brandon nailed it. The team arrived early morning with all required equipment, and we were able to start the day with an amazing oatmeal on almond milk with berries and chia. Each meal was well explained and nicely served to us. We enjoyed bouquet of flavours from cherry foie gras to ratatouille with pomegranates on a wholewheat taco, from crab remoulade sandwich to creamy potato-leek soup (lactose free), from crepe au citron in desserts to mix berry tart with lemon curd. Each meal was professionally cooked and served with constant attention to details. We enjoyed our day with such service and recommend everyone to try, we definitely will reach out to BR Private Dining to enjoy this experience again but now with our friends and extended family. Chef Brandon and BR Private Dining deserve the trust, just be opened to this new experience and work on the menu.

Each course whispered a clue, each bite pulled me deeper into a delicious enigma that asked me to not just taste, but to feel and interpret. The journey began with a hush—cool scallop ceviche bathed in coconut and passionfruit, as if the ocean kissed the tropics. The soft sweetness dissolved on my tongue, just before a chilli strawberry foam tingled my lips like a secret begging to be told. It was the kind of appetizer that didn’t shout—it invited you in. Then came the conflict. A crisp sea bass taco, bold and bright with spiced mango and pickled jalapeño, made me sit up and pay attention. It played like a plot twist—unexpected, fiery, refreshing. But the smoked prawn ravioli? That was poetry. A smoky hush balanced with peach saffron, citrus oil, and dill. It didn’t try to impress—it knew it was unforgettable. By the time the mains arrived, I was fully invested. The tarragon-crusted lamb was a slow unraveling of comfort and complexity. Truffle aioli, pickled blueberries, mashed potatoes—it was hearty, tender, and slightly haunted. It tasted like a revelation, like a past remembered. And then the soft shell crab—fragile, powerful, and unexpected. The crab curry wrapped around the rice like silk around the waist of a mystery woman. Every note—ginger, apricot, lemon, fresh herbs—felt intentional. I didn’t speak. I just listened. And when dessert came—apple tarte tartin with cinnamon caramel and butter pecan ice cream—it was the exhale. The sweet answer at the end of a curious question. It didn’t need to be loud. It needed to be right—and it was. If food could speak, The Riddle Journey would be a love letter, a challenge, and a secret all at once. The chef doesn’t just cook—he creates emotion. This wasn’t about what was plated. This was about what it meant. ✨ A full sensory mystery unraveled, bite by bite. And I’m still thinking about the answer.

My first time engaging Private Chef and I’m lucky to have Chef Brandon taking up my request. Food is super amazing and he is very accommodating to my request on the menu. He is very professional and his love for food shown on the food that he served us. We enjoyed the dinner and I would recommend him to anyone that want to try private dining at home. I hired Chef Brandon Rodrigues from Take a Chef to cook for us on my husband's birthday. We are an American couple, traveling the world, and staying in a flat in KL for 3 months. We have never before hired a personal chef. The experience was outstanding. Both Chef Brandon and his assistant were exceptional at their craft. They were engaging and interesting and extremely nice. The dishes were beautiful and delicious. My husband was extremely pleased as well. We highly recommend Take a Chef, and Chef Brandon, for anyone who wants a fun, relaxing, delicious experience!

Brandon provided a top notch experience. He is personable, professional knowledgeable and above all an artist. We were looking for a learning experience as well as the meal and Brandon was amenable with all of the answers at his fingertips. I can't recommend Brandon highly enough. I also can't think of a way to improve the meal experience, and I am a picky experienced restaurant hand.

Brandon and his team arrived on time for my birthday, which I celebrated with my husband and our 3 children. They cooked an exquisite meal in our rented Airbnb in a good humoured and very efficient manner as previously discussed and served it in a pleasant way. We had a culinary delightful dinner. You can feel how much Brandon loves his job. Kitchen was left spotless. Highly recommended.

Hey there! So, Chef Brandon totally nailed it as our private dining chef. First off, he was super clear in his communication and even gave us some great suggestions to make our Father's Day celebration even better. But wait, there's more! He went above and beyond and customized a special cake for my hubby, and let me tell you, he was over the moon with this surprise. And get this, our 8-year-old son was all curious and watching Chef Brandon work his magic in the kitchen. Chef Brandon, being the awesome guy he is, asked our son if he wanted to help decorate his own dessert. Can you believe that? It was an incredible experience booking an evening by Chef Brandon. From the get-go, I applaud Chef Brandon's professionalism in communicating using the website, which gave me extreme confidence in booking with him. He was engaging in understanding my needs with smooth communications through the website and then via whatsapp upon confirmation - as I booked this experience for both my parents birthdays. From his punctual arrival at our house - 5 minutes before the discussed time! To the set up in the kitchen, and ensuring the meal began on-time for the breaking of fast. Presentation of the meals was extremely innovative, engaging. My parents had a wonderful time, with my mother still speaking about his dishes days later! Decided to book this during the month of Ramadhan, which made it extremely comfortable, being able to take a few moments to do prayers in between. Meals were delicious mixture of local delicacies. Our first time to have in house fine dine with "take a chef". Definitely a memorable with my wife valentine and birthday date. Brandon and his assistant jason did a great job for us to enjoy, well explained on the menu and clean our kitchen after session.

The chef was attentive, fun, professional and made sure the menu was personalised right down to the last detail!
