I’m Chef Bridget Mangwandi, the 2024 MasterChef South Africa winner, a self-taught chef, food scientist and culinary entrepreneur with a lifelong passion for food. I’ve been cooking for over 12 years, with 3 years of professional culinary experience, and have completed specialised training in hotplate cookery and patisserie.
My academic background combines food and science. I hold two diplomas in Nutritional Sciences and Food Safety and am currently completing a Bachelor of Consumer Science, majoring in Food Science. This allows me to approach cooking not only from a culinary perspective, but also through an understanding of nutrition, food safety and the relationship between food and wellbeing.
Through my food brand, Bei.Cuisine, I specialise in African and globally inspired cuisine, private dining, catering and food experiences.
