Sinqobile Kwame Nkabinde (more widely known as Chef Nqobi) is a passionate culinary artist and filmmaker, born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. After honing his skills in culinary school and professional kitchens such as Hilton Hotel (Sandton) and ANEW: Hotel & Resorts (Ingeli Forest, Centurion, Hunter’s Rest, Hluhluwe and Parktownian to name a few), he has learned to balance his curiosity and creativity in high-pressure environments.
With a natural talent for both the culinary arts and storytelling, Nqobile is known for bringing people together through his experimental curiosity with food and his love for music and film. In addition to being the Culinary Director of TastyTing & Taste The Beat, food series dedicated to simplifying recipes in a creative way, he is also the Head of Culinary and Co-founder of Melodies and Munchies, a multi-artistic event series that merges live music with a culinary experience. Nqobile continues to curate events that offer a feast for the senses while showcasing a communal love for food, film and music.
