The chef was born in the splendid Tropea in 1979.

At the age of 16 he immediately began his profession in the summer period in the holiday villages in

Calabria.

As soon as he graduated, he moved to various cities, first in Italy, Sardinia, Elba Island in the summer,

then abroad in America, England and France.

He has worked for important names such as Enoteca Pinchiorri, La Tenda rossa, Nobu Armani.

At the age of 26 he decides to open his creation the "Ristorante Baccarossa" in via Ghibellina in Florence.

Restaurant with only 40 seats specializing in fish.

Since the second year it has been included in the Michelin guide with two red forks.

At the same time he carried on the teaching profession both in school and out of school as a personal chef.

I'm avaible for cooking class,private dinner, show cooking, pizza day,cocktail and wine tasting.

We’d never used a chef on holiday before. We definitely will again! Amerigo and his team were the best: they sorted dinner menus for 18 of us in a villa, 10 adults and 8 kids. The food was absolutely delicious. The kids menu went down a storm every night. The grocery bills for each day were so economical and avoided any waste, and anything we couldn’t eat made for a wonderful lunch the next day, and another trip to the supermarket avoided. They’d even pick up any extra groceries/shopping we needed. The addition of a waiter (for a very reasonable rate) created even more pool and family/relaxing time for us to enjoy the sunset before sitting down to a gorgeous meal. By the time we finished our long evening dinner the kitchen was totally spotless. I appreciated the easy comms on Whatsapp, and receiving the menu in advance to check in with the rest of the holiday group. As well as doing traditional three/four course menus, he organised a bbq (using the huge onsite bbq at the villa) and a pizza night. No regrets and a service that now we know about, we will use again and again. Thank you Amerigo from us all, what a talented chef and team!

Amerigo was very friendly and prepared lovely food according to our dietary needs.

The dishes were delicious and the chef was amazing about working with half of the group having Celiac. Chef was knowledgeable, polite, and made everything so easy! I would absolutely recommend take a chef and Amerigo specifically!

Amerigo and Sara made us two delectable meals, exactly as requested. The first night we wanted simple and delicious. The menu included pizzas with various toppings, bruschetta, meats, and dessert. Our second night we asked for traditional Tuscan fare and it was mouth watering! Breads, salad, bruschetta, sliced meats, roasted pork and the most delectable potatoes I’ve ever had! There was so much food left that we were able to feed most of our group of 14 another time. Amerigo let my son who loves to cook help out in the kitchen a bit and that may have been his favorite part of our vacation! Thank you so much, Amerigo!

Amerigo and his wife Sarah were excellent. They gave us the history behind every thing we had to eat. Super fresh food presented beautifully.

We had a great time with Amerigo. Being a group of 19 people, he fulfilled all our wishes and Even set up a lactose free option for one of us. We would highly recommend him and his lovely service.

Chef Amerigo Capria was excellent and delivered the perfect personal chef services for our visit to Tuscany! We needed breakfast and dinner for a group of 18 for one day. Chef Capria arrived on time and served an amazing breakfast complete with cappuccino, eggs, bacon, pastries, fruit and juices. He also had Sara, his sous chef, who was wonderful. For dinner, he made a delicious Tuscan dinner. He and Sara, set the table, cleared and cleaned up the entire breakfast and dinner perfectly. Chef Capria speaks English, he sent the menu ahead and worked with our budget. Thank you Take A Chef!! We loved Chef Capria!! Highly recommend!

Chef Amerigo was AMAZING. He was so sweet, very thoughtful as he explained each dish, raved over the quality of ingredients, and was super impressive. He was also very sweet with the babies, wrapped up leftovers, and was super clean.

Amerigo was outstanding as a person and as a very professional chef. Our dinner was superb and he explain each course. Amerigo was very engaging and a delight to have in our villa. Bravo Amerigo.

Chef was the best! Even our child who isn’t a huge seafood fan is still raving about the meal.
