Chef Berenice Carmona

We had the absolute pleasure of having Chef Bernice prepare dinner for my girlfriends and I during my best friends bachelorette weekend. It was one of the highlights of the trip. Every dish was incredibly fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. She even was considerate and brought extra options for the ladies with food restrictions. The menu felt thoughtful, seasonal, and perfectly suited to our group. She set it out perfectly family style at the home and packed up leftovers for the following day! Beyond the food, Chef Bernice created such a warm and welcoming experience. She was professional and made the entire evening feel effortless. Everyone couldn't stop talking about how delicious the meal was. If you're looking for a private chef for a special occasion, I can't recommend Chef Bernice enough. She helped make our celebration unforgettable and I would absolutely book her again next time I return to Puerto Rico.

Chef was great overall. Very good food, several menu options, and even cooked us a surprise dessert after dinner.

Chef Berenice Carmona was amazing! Her food was so delicious and clearly made with a lot of love. It was a great complement to our cozy girls night in after a day outside. We had some delays on our end and she was extremely accommodating. She left the kitchen spotless and the leftovers neatly stored in the fridge. I took the leftover guava/cream cheese pastries home with me... muchas gracias Chef!!!

Berenice was absolutely incredible. Her food was so fresh and tasty. We had a large group for multiple meals and she still did an amazing job with allergies, timeliness, and cleanliness (in addition to putting up with us). I cannot recommend her enough!!

Our group consisted of 4 adults and 7 children and Berenice cooked dinners for a week. Each night she made a delicious, thoughtful meal. She was always punctual, was so pleasant to have around and treated everyone so kindly. All of the adults and children loved the food. She even made a social cake for us on her last night. Would highly recommend her services.

She was incredibly pleasant and accommodating. She thoughtfully explained each dish and its ingredients, arrived on time, and maintained clear communication throughout the process. I highly recommend her services.

We had the most wonderful experience with Bernice! We had a group of 13 women and she prepared six incredible meals for us during our stay. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented. She set the table for every meal, cleaned everything up afterward, and was always punctual and professional. Bernice herself is an absolute sweetheart and made the experience feel warm and special. On our last day she even surprised us with homemade garden Bloody Mary’s, which was such a fun touch! One helpful note: the chef primarily speaks Spanish, so if anyone in your group has food allergies, it’s best to communicate those using a translator app to ensure everything is clearly understood. Overall, the service was fantastic and I would 100% hire her again. Highly recommend!

Absolutely wonderful! Chef Berenice was a delight to meet and her dishes were such a beautiful compliment to our time down here on the island. We are very thankful that we got to meet her and for how easy/delicious the whole process was. We recommend her 100%:)

Chef Bernice was incredible. She was able to accommodate a few different food allergies within our group (including an onion/garlic allergy) without compromising the experience for the other guests. We HIGHLY recommend her.

Chef Berenice was truly one of the highlights of our entire trip to San Juan. We were there for a week-long company offsite, and she handled nearly all of our breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. Every single meal was exceptional. Her Puerto Rican–style cooking went far beyond our expectations. Not only was the food consistently outstanding, but she also went above and beyond the planned menu, surprising us with thoughtful extras throughout the week. On our departure day, she even prepared to-go snack packs with fresh fruit for our flights, which was such a kind and personal touch. What really sets Chef Berenice apart is how she treats her guests. She cooked for us as if we were her own family, and that care came through in every detail. The entire team raved about her food all week long, and it quickly became something we looked forward to each day. We will absolutely work with Chef Berenice every time we are in Puerto Rico, and I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for an unforgettable, elevated, and genuinely heartfelt culinary experience. P.S. Her breakfast sandwiches were hands down the best I’ve ever had.

Chef Berenice deserves an A++++ for her delicious meals, beautiful presentation of all dishes served, and her informative explanation of prepared foods and local history. Berenice arrived for each meal as scheduled and communication was easy. We highly recommend “takeachef” to anyone interested in having meals prepared and delivered while on vacation. An A+ company!

Bernice was an excellent chef and made our experience so great. She also makes amazing baked goods to accompany her cooking and does an amazing job describing the food. Learned a lot from her and throughly enjoyed our time with her.

Berenice is an incredible chef and an even better person. Despite us having to make a few changes to our original itinerary, she was happy to work with us as we got everything in order. She was engaging and made sure that we had everything we asked for, all of which was beyond delicious. I would not hesitate to use her services again and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone visiting San Juan.

Take a chef with Berenice in Puerto Rico was amazing. It not only helped us eat well while traveling, but created a relaxing and memorable experience for our whole family. The meals were delicious, and allowed us to taste fresh, local cuisine we never otherwise would have found. Highly recommended!
