Positive, focussed and always up for a challenge!

Working as a Sous-chef for the past 6 and a half years makes me a well organized and professional chef. My key focus is to deliver a successful and fulfilling service while preparing and presenting the best dishes. I am extremely self-motivated, fun to work with and I enjoy engaging with different cultures and personalities. I am self-sufficient and able to work for lengthy hours. When it comes to providing solutions to workplace challenges, I am quick to think on my feet, especially when it comes to guests' dietary requirements and preferences. I’ve worked in well established kitchens, as well as finding my way in confined spaces while working with what I have.

My career started off in the USA in 2014, being a commis chef at Wequassett Resort & Golf club gave me a great head start into the industry by landing a job at By Word of Mouth in Johannesburg the following year. This is where I found my feet and impressed many Head and Executive chefs from exclusive restaurants. I then got the opportunity to open up Gentlemen’s Arthouse Restaurant as an Executive Sous-Chef alongside the Executive Chef of the group in 2016. I acquired great skills in 6-course meals, planning and organizing seasonal menus, which was great for the Franschhoek food & wine capital. In 2017, I started my journey as a Senior Sous-Chef at La Residence Hotel & Spa, where I played a fundamental role in contributing towards altering the lunch and dinner menus everyday, making sure every guest had a complete experience.

From an education perspective, I’ve completed my Advanced Diploma in Food Preparation and Supervisory (City & Guilds) and completed my N6 in Hospitality and Catering Services. Through a course of 3 & a half years along with my 9 years of work experience, I can guarantee you, your family and guests an amazing meal, while practicing good hygiene in doing so.
