I’m Cormac Winnell — chef-owner of BonCo Cake &Cater

I started BonCo for one simple reason: I love giving people a restaurant-quality experience in the place they actually want to celebrate — at home, in a holiday house, or at a private venue. For me, the best meals aren’t just about food; they’re about creating a moment where everyone can relax, connect, and feel looked after.

My cooking is modern Australian with a strong focus on seafood, seasonal produce, and native ingredients when they suit the menu. I’m detail-driven in the kitchen, but easy to deal with — I’ll guide you through the options, tailor the menu to your tastes, and make sure every guest is catered for.

Dietary requirements are a big part of what I do. Whether it’s gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan, or allergies, I’m used to building menus that feel generous and exciting, not restrictive.

From intimate dinners to celebrations and larger events, I bring the calm, organised energy you want on the day — and I take care of everything from cooking to clean-down so you can enjoy your time with your guests.

We booked a private chef for a bucks weekend dinner at a tricky location, and they still made it there without any fuss. Great bloke, very personable, kept us updated on timing and what each dish was, and the food was excellent. They also set up a great table, packed away all the leftovers, and cleaned everything up before leaving. Couldn’t fault the service.

Chef Carmac and Chef Elliot were the best! The food and service were outstanding and we honestly didn’t need to do anything, it was all taken care of. Thank you for a wonderful lunch and afternoon.

Cormac made our evening so amazing. From the table setting, to the outstanding food to the interaction through the cook and when dishing up there was nothing to fault
