I’ve been a chef for over 10 years, and during that time I’ve had the chance to live, work and cook in different parts of the world.

I lived in Portugal for three years and have also worked as a chef in Prague, the UK and Tenerife, Spain. Throughout my career, I’ve gained experience with different cuisines, including fine-dining Japanese cuisine, and I’ve also worked as a Head Chef in a Portuguese restaurant. Being surrounded by so many different cultures and styles of cooking has had a big influence on the food I create today.

I love working with fresh, local ingredients and keeping my food full of flavour without overcomplicating it. I really love the farm-to-table concept, knowing where ingredients come from, supporting local producers and letting beautiful seasonal produce speak for itself. I believe in treating every ingredient with respect, using as much of it as possible and keeping waste to a minimum.

What I love most is creating an experience where you can simply relax, enjoy beautiful food and spend time with the people around you. I can bring the whole dining experience into the comfort of your home, but I also love creating picnics, BBQs, brunches and events outdoors.

Whether it’s a long lunch with an ocean view, dinner while watching the sunset, or a relaxed meal right on the beach, I love making good food part of a beautiful memory

Jela, at Lemon Soul, was just fantastic. I had 19 relatives for my birthday lunch, and everything was great - her menu, the food, serving, timing, cleaning up after - but, most of all, she has such a wonderful personality. Nothing was too much trouble, and she made my special day so enjoyable by taking the catering off my mind. I'm looking forward to the next occasion that I can use her.

Chef jela, wow honestly what words can express the absolute incredible chef she sent our way, we have been planning our little event for over a year now and had her booked from the beginning she has been the sweetest most caring person she was so happy to cater for any dietary restrictions, in every way the process of choosing the final menu was so smooth and exciting. As the day approached, unfortunately she had an emergency but she sent her partner and he was the most phenomenal chef, his attitude, attention to detail, his cooking style, everything was so on point. The food was absolutely incredible 10/10 across the board, every dish phenomenal, so clean and just utter perfection. They are the only chefs we will be going to for any future events, why go anywhere else when we have already met the best chefs honestly. Thank you a million times, you have made our night so extremely memorable.

Chef Jela was fantastic. She was great communicating prior to the event and flexible when asked for changes. She was extremely professional and polite. The food was absolutely delicious and exactly what I had asked for - family style greek vibes. I highly recommend Chef Jela and will certainly hire her again in the future. Our chef was amazing. Her communication was on point right up to the day. We discussed the menu back-and-forth and nothing was a problem whatsoever. She was very accommodating to everyone’s requirements. She was very punctual and she knew exactly what to do. She got in and got started and just made me feel so at ease she is bright and bubbly and such a pleasure to have a conversation with and with every dish laid out a full explanation of the meal which pulled us more and more into the journey. It was absolutely fantastic and I’d do it over and over again.

Jela was absolutely amazing! She was so accommodating and friendly, travelling all the way to the Blue Mountains (2-3 hours travel!) to cook for us. We had a fantastic dinner in part thanks to her warm attitude. She also got on very well with our dog haha. The food was absolutely fantastic! We were having a large family dinner and the family style Italain menu really made it feel like a warm family gathering. The portions were very generous and everyone was raving about the experience. Thank you so much Jela!

Chef Jela was amazing. She was accommodating as we have small children that we had to contend with on the night, she never made us feel rushed and was very relaxed about the interruptions to the service. The food was incredible! She as such a varied life experience and it really shows in her food - all the places she has lived really come together to create such interesting, unique dishes. It was an incredible night for my friend's 40th that we'll never forget. I would book her again in a heartbeat and have already recommended her to friends.
