I’m Chef Gareth Wharton, a professional chef based in the West Midlands, specialising in private dining, celebrations, events and freelance chef services.

I’ve built my career around creating food that is well executed, full of flavour and enjoyable to eat. My cooking is rooted in modern British and contemporary European cuisine, combining classical techniques with a modern approach to presentation and seasonal ingredients.

As a private chef, I believe the experience should be about more than simply putting food on a plate. From discussing the menu and planning the event through to preparation, cooking and service, I take care of the details so my clients can relax and enjoy their occasion.

I cater for a range of occasions, from intimate private dinners and special celebrations to larger parties, BBQs and catered events. I can create a bespoke menu around your occasion, or work with you to adapt one of my existing menus to suit your tastes, budget and requirements.

I also bring extensive experience working in professional kitchen environments, allowing me to approach events with the organisation, preparation and attention to detail expected from a professional chef.
