Chef Laura Tomé

About Me

I’m 28 years old, born and raised in Portugal, with Danish roots through my mother. Growing up between these two cultures has had a strong influence on the way I cook and the way I see food.

My passion for cooking started at a very young age, inspired by both of my grandmothers in very different ways. My Danish grandmother was a professional chef for many years, working in her own hotel, so I grew up surrounded by the world of kitchens and hospitality. My Portuguese grandmother taught me another side of food: the importance of gathering around the table, cooking for the people you love, and how a meal can bring a family together.

I later lived in Denmark for four years, where I became even more connected to Danish cuisine and had the opportunity to work alongside and learn from chefs who helped me develop my knowledge and skills.

After many years surrounded by food and hospitality, I decided to turn that lifelong passion into my own path. A year ago, I created my catering business, Lykke Catering, bringing together my Portuguese upbringing, Danish heritage and everything I have learned along the way.
