My name is Martin and i have a big passion for international food with high quality. Back in Holland i had my own restaurant for 5 years. This year i started as Private Chef in the Algarve. Martin was wonderful! We were a very large group with adults and children and he was able to make dishes that everyone liked. The food was incredible - the best meal we had in the Algarve! He was also extremely nice, accommodating, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend him!

Martin was a fantastic Chef and we had a wonderful evening. His food was delicious, he arrived exactly on time, we hardly noticed he was here until we sat down to eat. The table was perfectly set, each course was well presented and he gave us just enough information about each course. After the meal he cleaned everything and left our kitchen spotless. I will absolutely request him again!

Martin, our chef, made my bithday to an evening I will never forget. Together with my big familily, he made a meal that suited both the small kids and the grownups. It was very tasty, good variety in the dishes and plenty of food. Martin was not only a fabulous cook, he was a very nice person that took good care of all the guests and has very good alternatives for those with allergies. I can fully recomend him.

We had the pleasure of Martin cooking for 8 of us last night. The flavours of his dishes were insane. From baked Camembert .. Scallops.. Piri piri chicken. Steak to Pavlova all 10/10. Highly recommend xx

Martin is absolutely incredible! We were 10 people, with children between ages of 3-8. Martin did an amazing job catering for food preferences for both kids and adults. We had five lunches and he created a varied menu, and took into account all input and preferences we had. Food and presentation was sooo good! He is so kind and professional, and cleaned up everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) after our meals. We would strongly recommend. Definitely the best investment of our holiday!

Chef Martin was exceptional from the start! He was communicative and adapted the menu to our specific requests/ even made some suggestions for main dish sides. Once he arrived, he got right to work preparing an incredible meal for our group of 10. He was able to adapt without hesitation in the limited Airbnb kitchen. You would have thought the food came out of a professional kitchen! The beautiful spread he prepared was absolutely delicious. We were blown away! Thank you Martin for making our first dinner in Lagos special!

Martin came and cooked for us at our villa. We were a group of 13 guys on a golf trip. He was brilliant, good communication before the event. We talked through the menu and agreed what we would have. He worked incredibly hard and produced some amazing food and lots of it! I would highly recommend if you are looking for a chef in the algarve.

Martin was fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious and exactly what we asked for each night. Martin also gave lots of great menu suggestions to help us build our menus based on what we liked. His communication was extremely clear, which made the booking stress free and it in no way interfered with the rest of our holiday day, we could just turn up and dinner would be served at the time we agreed. He was also so flexible for last minute changes which we really appreciated with 3 young children! Lastly, the kitchen was always left spotless. I couldn't recommend Martin enough!

We had the absolute pleasure of having Chef Martin cook for us for two nights of our holiday, and he was incredible. In the lead-up, he was super responsive, curating a bespoke menu and happily accommodating swaps. The food was sensational - the crispy pork belly and dumplings from our Asian night were amazing, and the steak was phenomenal. Beyond the fantastic cooking, Martin was so wonderfully kind and accommodating. When our baby wouldn't go down and we had to delay dinner, he didn't bat an eye. He made us feel completely at ease, and the food came out tasting amazing the moment we were ready. We'd book him again in a heartbeat!

Very good experience booking Martin for a private meal

Martin was a fantastic chef for our dinner for 8 here in Lagos. He served us many dishes that were varied, beautiful, and absolutely delicious. His food was very fresh and included seafood, cheese, meat, potatoes and vegetables. We enjoyed all of it. He arrived early and prepared our entire meal on site, including a fabulous dessert, and cleaned up afterwards. His food presentations were lovely and fun. He even sent us one of his recipes the next day We would not hesitate to use his services again and we give him our highest recommendation.

We were a group of 16 celebrating a 50th reunion. We had Marten and Irina two nights. One which was more casual BBQ style, and the second a formal murder mystery dinner which definitely created challenges for course timing. But Marten was flexible and figured it out. Both nights the food was delicious and abundant. And so fresh! Marten offered impeccable service from start to finish. He was absolutely on mark. Several in our group are restauranteurs and all were scrambling for some of his sauce recipes. What a calm focussed and positive temperament Marten and Irina have! It was a pleasure having them assist in our reunion.

Do not hesitate to choose Martin for your private dining experience. He was absolutely wonderful. The food was incredible and thoughtfully prepared. We were celebrating a birthday and he made a lovely cake for us and helped us present it. He even made an addition to our menu to improve it based on the choices I made. Martin was lovely. Engaging and professional. He explained each dish to us and happily answered any questions we had. The food was incredible. The overall experience was perfect. We all had an amazing time. I would definitely recommend Martin and I would certainly choose him again. Thank you!!

Martin was delightful! He prepared an absolutely delicious dinner for our family of 6 in our rental villa. Despite our villa missing some key items he did not miss a beat! He made a dinner reflective of the local culture and delicacies but also accommodated some special requests. 100% would recommend Martin to any group! Thank You Martin!!

Really amazing! It was my first time using this service and Martin was incredible! He made the most incredible food and worked around our allergies and food preferences. The presentation was so great. Honestly 5/5 for Martin. We are super happy!

Chef Martin was everything we could have hoped for. We hired him to serve breakfast and dinner every day for one full week while we were visiting Algarve. The food was consistently fantastic. The man is a magician with potatoes. Martin was also excellent to work with. He was communicative, prompt and accommodated our needs and interests. And he made sure that our celiac guest always had a full assortment of options at every meal. This was our first time hiring a chef for a week, and Martin set a very high bar for future trips. We would hire him again in a second.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wij hebben ontzettend genoten van onze avond met Chef Martin! Vanaf het eerste contact was de communicatie prettig, duidelijk en ontspannen. Martin is een ontzettend vriendelijke en keurige man die zich gemakkelijk aanpast en ook heel leuk en ontspannen met de kinderen omging. Het eten was heerlijk en absoluut waar voor je geld. Het fijne aan deze ervaring is dat je in je eigen huis volledig kunt ontspannen, terwijl er ondertussen een heerlijke maaltijd voor je wordt bereid. Geen gedoe, alleen genieten! Ook na afloop was alles perfect verzorgd: de keuken was weer heerlijk schoon en opgeruimd. Echt een luxe avond zonder dat het stijf of formeel voelde. Wij zouden Chef Martin absoluut aanraden en boeken hem met alle plezier nog een keer!

Chef Martin was a superb ending to a great week away with friends. It felt like such a treat having Martin cook for us.

Martin van Unen prepared an extraordinary meal for our group of 16. This was no simple request as we had two vegetarians and one gluten-free diners. Across our communications with him, he was professional, prompt and took the utmost care and providing the diner. The diner was definitely one of the highlights for our time in the Algarve. Every single member of our group raved about how wonderful the meal was and how and how friendly and engaging Martin was with Our group. As an added benefit, he cleaned our kitchen so well that it was cleaner after Martin cooked! Without hesitation, I would highly recommend using Martin!
