"Originally from California, my roots
are deep in the South of Alabama,
and I allow the essence of the
Country to inspire my cooking as
well as my City foundation. Growing
up around Black, Latino, Persian,
and other cultures, I was exposed to
a varying food palette early. My
surroundings made me open to
exploring other cultures even more.
Middle Eastern flavors inspire me.
Mexican dishes inspire me. The
seafood of New Orleans inspires me.
And then, of course, my roots. As a
chef, it is important to embrace the
new yet never forget your origins."
