After working in hospitality and food production/service for 10 years, I have taken all I have learned in the various bars and restaurants, and can now deliver an experience to you and your guests in your own home.

Moving away from the conventional professional kitchen has opened up the opportunity to work close with nature and local producers. Now we have the opportunity to collaborate and design a delicious experience that is tailored to your event, and of course, your personal taste.

My style of cooking has evolved to now focus on the best quality ingredients, grown locally, seasonally, and sustainable. This includes regeneratively farmed meats and vegetables, day boat fish, organic fruit, and foraged ingredients. You can always expect some education and insight with the backstory of the star ingredients, but the focus will always first and foremost be on flavour.

I am professionally trained in wine, spirits, and cocktails, so there is always the option to add drinks pairings, welcome drinks, after dinner cocktails, or a spirit tasting. Non-alcoholic options will always be available.

I can adapt every meal to people with dietary restrictions and allergies, so no one will be missing out. I will prepare and serve their food separately to minimise cross contamination, and they can enjoy the meal without a worry.

Chef Shaun really made our evening so special. He was really helpful and listened to what we were trying to achieve when we were agreeing the menu and everyone was really impressed with the food and presentation on the night. We were worried that it might seem odd having a stranger with us for a celebration, but in fact by the end of the night he knew our silly jokes and felt like one of the gang! Shaun cooked for us to celebrate my partner’s 40th birthday, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. He was friendly and attentive throughout—from our initial briefing where he immediately understood my requests, to executing the evening itself. Shaun made thoughtful suggestions and offered alternatives during menu planning, tailoring everything to suit the occasion. On the day, he arrived punctually, worked discreetly, and even surprised us with a signature birthday cocktail, which was a lovely touch! Each dish in the four-course menu was delicious, made with fresh and locally sourced ingredients which we enjoyed. It was a surprise for my partner, who thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Shaun for a private chef experience.
