I am passionate about traditional Sicilian cuisine, fish dishes, the scents of fresh herbs and the sun that nourished them. I'm bright and fun.

Alessandro

I have 15 years of experience in the kitchen. I worked in Spain, Ireland, Italy, Denmark. My experience was formed by working but I give my best when I go to the market and create dishes based on the fresh things I find, so I improvise improvised dishes that are still based on the Mediterranean style. I spent the last 13 years in Copenhagen where I learned another way of conceiving the menu.

I was quite nervous about booking a chef for my mother's 80th birthday, as it was unknown territory for us, and I didn't know exactly how our villa's kitchen would look, or what amenities it would have. I also had to cater for our group's various dietary needs and wants. We looked at a variety of options from a number of chefs, and although Alessandro's wasn't the cheapest, it really met our needs, and we weren't disappointed, as it ended up being an incredible experience. Alessandro was early, which was reassuring. (He did let us know he would be!) He settled into the kitchen in our rented Fontane Bianche villa incredibly quickly, and he went to work. Each course was accompanied by an interesting, fun, educational, and efficient explanation. And each course was very different and loved by all. Alessandro interacted very well with the group, and the overall impression afterwards was that it was a unique and special event, the like of which several of our family hadn't experienced before. I highly recommend Alessandro, and I have no regrets at all about using Take a Chef or selecting Alessandro's menu. Thank you Alessandro Allegra!
