Quality, Nutrition and Sustainability - the holy trinity of my expertise.
Story time: I have a masters from Political Science but that's because I wasn't really supported in my ambition to go to culinary school. So, I did my masters but also worked at a German Cafe in Bangalore, India. Of course, no one knew but I persevered the student by day, chef by night spiel. Then I got into cooking professionally and did that for 4.5 years before I realised the deep-rooted issues in the industry that was contributing to my frayed mental health. So, a year after my last kitchen job, I moved to Italy to do my second masters in Agroecology and Food Sovereignty from the University of Gastronomic Sciences, Pollenzo. Since then I have been enamoured with the culture of food that exists in Italy.
From my experience, I have:
- menu building/restructuring
- recipe testing and development
- using regional and seasonal produce
- effectively set up kitchen for a smooth and seamless operation
- manage kitchen and pantry inventory to reduce shortage of produce
- innovate with lesser-known produce to champion sustainability
Apart from that, I am:
- a Climate Leader at the Bloom, in a freelancing and volunteering capacity
- moderately experienced in growing vegetables as I was a farm hand at my university garden in Italy
- passionate about DEI and climate change and speak about it through my work with organ meat consumption

By myself! My biggest inspiration was my mum but I learned enough cooking by myself that I landed a job in a kitchen and built my way up.

To always keep learning and to never give up. Maybe a recipe fails to work one day, but that doesn't mean it will never work. We just try again later.
