Chef Timothy Barker

Chef Timothy Barker is a highly respected Memphis restaurateur and hospitality consultant whose career spans 25 years of innovative concept design and execution. Originally from Martin, Tennessee, Barker refined his craft in New England and Martha's Vineyard before bringing his expertise to the Mid-South.

Upon arriving in Memphis, Barker quickly became a central figure in the city's dynamic dining scene. He owned and served as Chef/Proprietor of the critically acclaimed Edge Alley (2017–2023), a 90-seat Restaurant in the Edge District. This beloved space functioned as a community hub, renowned for its commitment to house-made everything. His ethos of genuine interest, passion, and attention to detail ensured every guest received an honest, memorable culinary experience.

Beyond his restaurant operations, Barker is the founder of Leading Edge Hospitality Group which specializes in concepting, designing, and developing diverse hospitality spaces, from independent restaurants to branded hotels. His philosophy centers on functionality, creativity, and fostering community, making him a pivotal consultant for the region. Although Edge Alley closed on a high note in late 2023, Chef Barker remains actively involved in shaping Memphis's culinary future, continuing his consulting work and contributing to discussions on the local restaurant industry.
