Born and raised in Beaufort, South Carolina, Executive Chef Jeremy Halker developed a passion for culinary arts at a young age. His career began in local restaurants, where he immersed himself in the fast-paced environment of professional kitchens, learning the intricacies of various culinary roles. This early exposure laid the foundation for his dedication to the craft and his appreciation for the Lowcountry’s rich culinary traditions.
Professional Journey
Since 2016, Chef Halker has served as the Executive Chef at Spring Island Club in South Carolina, where he has been instrumental in elevating member dining experiences. His leadership and innovative approach to cuisine have made him a standout in the club and resort culinary scene. Prior to Spring Island, he held the position of Executive Sous Chef at Belfair Country Club in Bluffton, South Carolina, further honing his skills in high-end hospitality.
Chef Halker’s culinary expertise earned him a spot as a competitor in the 2024 Club + Resort Chef of the Year competition, though he later withdrew for personal reasons. His participation in the Chef to Chef Conference reflects his commitment to continuous learning and team development, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and creativity in the kitchen.
In addition to his work in private clubs, Chef Halker has taken on the role of Culinary Instructor at Bridges Preparatory School in Beaufort, sharing his knowledge and passion with the next generation of chefs.
