At just 12 years old, I got my first taste of the professional kitchen, helping run supplies at a catering event for the Governor of Ohio. Even though I wasn’t cooking yet, I was hooked by the electricity in the room—the camaraderie, the energy, the dance of a kitchen in motion. That adrenaline still runs through me today, only now I channel it into deeply personal dining experiences that speak to the heart as much as the palate.
My journey took me from Johnson & Wales in Charleston, to high-stakes kitchens in Las Vegas, where I cooked for icons like Will Smith, LeBron James, and two U.S. Presidents. I returned home to open my own restaurant and later served as Senior Corporate Chef at Certified Angus Beef, where I earned the nickname "the beef guy"—even though, ironically, I was often called “the fish guy” in restaurant kitchens.
Throughout my career, I’ve stayed true to the flavors and spirit of where I come from: contemporary American cuisine grounded in Midwestern roots, layered with Southern charm and bold Southwestern flair. My style is rustic, soulful, and sensory-driven—I love using scents, visuals, and textures to take guests on a journey. I once burned cinnamon sticks during a dinner in New York just to evoke the essence of an autumn day in Northeast Ohio. That’s the level of intention I bring to every experience.
After years in restaurants and corporate test kitchens, I knew it was time to return to what lit the spark in me all those years ago: cooking for people in a personal way. That’s why I started Evoke Private Dining—to create intimate, immersive culinary experiences where the chef isn’t just behind the scenes, but part of the story.
This work is incredibly personal. I’ve taught special needs students, helped brands find their flavor, and championed cancer awareness after losing both of my parents and grandparents to the disease. My niece is a childhood cancer survivor—and her resilience inspires me every day to make the most of my craft and give back whenever I can.If you’re ready to turn your next dinner into something unforgettable,
