Doc Sunshine ~~~ private chef and food consultant specializing in Pan-Caribbean and New Orleans cuisine, gluten-free, special diet and allergy-aware.

I’m a private chef and food consultant with more than 20 years of cooking experience, a Doctorate in Public Health, and graduate training in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences with a focus on toxicology. My work sits at the intersection of flavor, culture, and food safety.

My cooking draws inspiration from Pan-Caribbean food traditions and the rich culinary heritage of New Orleans. Caribbean cuisine is inherently global—shaped by African, Indigenous, South Asian, European, and Chinese influences—and I enjoy exploring those layered food histories through modern, vibrant menus informed by years of travel and culinary exploration.

I specialize in gluten-free, allergy-friendly, and special-diet cooking, creating meals that are deeply flavorful while accommodating dietary needs. Many of my clients come to me looking for food that feels celebratory and generous, but also thoughtfully prepared for their health and comfort.

Whether preparing a relaxed brunch, an intimate dinner, or a customized tasting experience for visitors to New Orleans, my goal is simple: create food that is memorable, welcoming, and full of character.
