I’m a chef who cooks with soul… blending fine-dining technique with a heart for creating moments people remember.
Brandon Basista is The Bearded Chef… a father, husband, mentor, and chef of 20+ years who believes food should have soul.
He’s cooked all over Central Florida and beyond, from fine dining kitchens to farm-driven restaurants where everything was grown, harvested, and butchered on site. Those years shaped his love for whole-animal cooking, charcuterie, and honoring ingredients at their source.
Brandon graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Orlando in 2007 and went on to lead kitchens in Italian, Thai, and New American cuisine. In 2017 he launched The Bearded Chef Food Truck, known for comfort food with an elevated edge. That same year he won the James Beard Foundation’s Blended Burger Project and was invited to cook at the James Beard House. He later collaborated in the JBF Celebrity Chef Tour alongside MasterChef Tiffany Derry, Paula Disilva, Deborah VanTrece, and Soraya Kilgore.
Whether it’s a private dinner, a wedding, a pop-up, or a community event, Brandon brings a steady presence, a teacher’s heart, and a genuine love for the people he’s cooking for.
His goal is simple… create food that feels like a moment worth remembering.
