I am very passionate about cooking and believes everything has to be perfect.

My name is Chef Mariah Hartford, and I am a Professional Chef with about 7 years of experience. Today, I would have never thought that I would be a Chef. Originally in college, I started to pursue a career in nursing, but then I realized that was not what I really wanted to do. In 2017, I began cooking, fell in love with doing it, and have not looked back since. 2019 I decided to go to Baton Rouge Community College Culinary School and graduated in 2021. I’ve worked with multiple chefs around Baton Rouge, like Chef Celeste Gill, owner of Chef Celeste Bistro and catering venue on 520 Spain, and Chef Jason Hebert, Executive Chef at the Renaissance Hotel. Working under those two has elevated my culinary knowledge.

I learned to cook at my own home. Whenever I wanted to cook something I would call my mom and ask her how to make something and I’d just make it.

A cooking secret...

My secret in the kitchen is cooking food with care as if you were cooking for yourself. And enjoying music while I cook.
