Passionate about change how people see and enjoy food.

Chef Yehuriz Hernandez was born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and raised in Jersey City, NJ. Though he had many childhood dreams, becoming a chef was not initially one of them. Over the years, he honed his culinary skills by working alongside talented chefs at prestigious establishments such as Hyatt Regency, Hilton Hotels, Eleven Madison Park, and various acclaimed restaurants across the tri-state area. Drawing on this rich experience, Yehuriz launched his first private chef business, which paved the way for opening his own restaurant, El Empanada King. He later expanded his culinary ventures by opening several other restaurants, including Rust Tavern, Gaia & Loki, and The Whiskey Priest.
