Get to know me better
A flash in the pan, seasoning the skillet for the future
A Chef of 13+ years, prep cook for years prior. I have cooked in kitchens from San Francisco to NYC and many in between. I love cooking traditional anything and then using common flavors/techniques to create fusion flavors that make sense. I enjoy doing themed menus, my favorite that I have done - The Dark Side of The Moon menu- with each dish representing a song on the album- Money Salad was a favorite- Champagne vinaigrette dressed greens, cheddar coins and dollar sign crostini with gold flake. Displayed multicolored watermelons cut into pyramids with moon craters a la melon baller.
For me, cooking is...
art, craft and the passion that it takes to enjoy nourishing body, mind and soul through food.
I learned to cook at...
my mothers feet. And later at Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
A role model in the kitchen is...
Adam Hoffman. Awesome old school Chef I worked under in Seattle. Taught me no yelling in the kitchen, our food might get scared.
A cooking secret...
Learning from anyone and everyone. Many times its learning how not to do something, but every now and then, a fresh eye is the best eye.
