I’m Chef Mieko, co-founder of Plant Culture™ (formerly Hella Nuts). My love for food began with flavors that feel like home, soulful, bold, comforting dishes meant to be shared. My cooking is rooted in global inspiration and thoughtful technique, with an emphasis on food that feels indulgent, satisfying, and deeply nourishing.

I believe food is connection. It’s laughter around a table, healing through nourishment, and the abundance we create when we slow down and eat well together. My journey has taken me from running a restaurant to hosting intimate cooking classes, moon gatherings, and private chef experiences each designed to surprise, delight, and bring people closer.

While my personal lifestyle is plant forward, I happily prepare meat, seafood, and mixed-diet menus upon request. My focus is always on flavor, balance, and creating a memorable experience tailored to you and your guests.

• A travel fee of $1 per mile (round trip) applies from the Berkeley, CA area

• Dishwashing and full cleanup are not included in the quoted rate

• An additional $150 cleaning fee applies if those services are requested
