Chef Vilai Pinasouc

I grew up in a very multicultural environment, so I was introduced to different foods, flavours, and cultures from a young age. That’s where my love for cultural food really started. I’ve always been fascinated by how food connects us and how different cultures can use similar ingredients in completely different ways. I’ve spent years working in kitchens, cooking for everything from small gatherings to large community meal programs. I love creating food that feels familiar and comforting, while introducing people to flavours and dishes they may not have tried before. My cooking is inspired by my Southeast Asian roots, my experience as a chef, and all the different cultures and people I’ve had the chance to cook with over the years.
