Chef Joe Garcia

I’m Chef Joe and I have been cooking since as far as I can remember. Both my parents were foodies of their time. Growing up, they would take me to a variety of restaurants; fast food, international cuisine and fine dining, you name it!  I have never been a finicky eater and developed a great appreciation for all genres of cuisine. I was also lucky enough to have parents that were very skilled cooks. One day when I was nine years old, instead of taking me to McDonald's, my Dad showed me how to make a tasty burger. I vividly remember him heating up a cast-iron skillet, seasoning it up and throwing on a burger patty. After that, it was off to the races! My Mom then began to teach me how to make Filipino and Asian cuisine. I was also a “latch key kid” growing up and I had to learn how to cook all the food I loved on my own. Instead of eating school food, I used my lunch money to buy groceries for my test kitchen meals. Throughout the years,  I have continued to learn, experiment and perfect a variety of cuisine and cooking techniques. I am a “Jack of all trades” when it comes to cooking! I can cook dishes from classic American comfort to International cuisine. If you asked me “what is my specialty?”, it would be transforming any meal into a healthier and lighter version. Being a fitness enthusiast,  I learned to merge my love for cooking and living an active lifestyle. In 2010 I founded a successful meal prep company where I wanted to ensure people were motivated to eat healthier.
