Hello! I am Chef Vasily Shichkov with 10+ years of experience in culinary arts. My strong passion for culinary excellence and leading experience allowed me to move quickly from a cook position to an executive chef role just within three years.

Several years ago I moved to the United States and continued my adventure in the culinary world. Learning the processes and experience of American cuisine, working in the top hotels and restaurants of the DMV area (like Park Hyatt Washington, Ritz-Carlton TC), and cooking for the American celebrities and politicians for two years, I was inspired for creating my own menu.

It is my pleasure to present my vision of modern American fusion cuisine which is based on a fresh local seasonal product, modern techniques, American classical recipes, some Asian and French accents, and my spirit and soul.

I believe my international and local experience will allow my guests to pursue an amazing, unforgettable adventure and discover my culinary world!

Chef Vasily is one of the best chefs we have ever had at our events and we already are planning to hire him in the near future. We have used many chefs over the years and have rarely recommended anyone, but he is different. His food is well sourced and delicious. Thank you for recommending him to us!

Words cannot express our experience. Chef Vasily made our evening one that will be remembered and talked about for years and years to come. Our party was so excited about our evening but upon Chef Vasily’s arrival we knew we were in for the night of our lives and he did not disappoint! From the smells, the presentation to the taste of the food was beyond anything we could have ever imagined. This was our first time using a professional Chef but I can assure you, it will not be our last! And we can’t imagine having anyone other than Chef Vasily provide us with that delicious meal! Thank you Chef for making it the perfect evening!!

Chef Vasily was one time , very polite and engaging. He was very professional and did very good timing out each course and sticking to the request schedule. I would high recommend him to any of my friends.

Chef Vasily was excellent! We can't stop talking about my mother's impressive birthday dinner - Chef Vasily conducted swift and effective communication leading up to the event, curating the menu according to our wishes. On the day, he was prompt, kind, clean, and professional. The food was absolutely exceptional, it was only the best ingredients - all 6 of us received a truly perfect cut of filet mignon. Chef Vasily was very sweet to my mother, and I'm certain she will want to do it again next year! Highly recommend!

Chef Vasily was outstanding! He created a beautiful dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday, and everyone there enjoyed their meals start to finish. His attention to detail was amazing, and each dish had so many beautiful and thoughtful components. We particularly loved his corn soup and the halibut, but literally every dish was outstanding. I would hire him again any time!!!! He was also very responsive, open to adjustments as we planned, and he arrived on time and cleaned up perfectly. Truly couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Chef Visaly was absolutely incredible. He was early, attentive, incredibly polite, and his food was spectacular. He explained his dishes with passion and that showed through to the quality of his cuisine. Will definitely be contacting Chef Visaly again. Thank you for a perfect dining experience!

This was a great experience having come into our home to cook us a world class dinner while we got to enjoy each others' company with no distractions or need to cook/cleanup. Fabulous experience! Chef Charles is an exceptional personal chef with a great personality. He prepared a delicious Sunday brunch as a treat for my family. It was even better than we could have imagined.

Chef Vasily is an extraordinarily talented chef. Both the food and presentation were excellent. The Cauliflower soup, tuna tartare, halibut, lamb chops and chocolate soufflé were all delicious! We highly recommend Chef Vasily and Take a Chef!

Vasily was incredible! He cooked for me and 6 of my friends in my home. On time, sociable, nice, and left the kitchen spotless. The bisque was amazing, and the filet just melted in your mouth. No one had ANY complaints. I highly recommend!

Chef Vasily was amazing. The menu selection was great and the food also tasted good. He was able to accommodate my sons dairy allergy and didn’t make me pay for a whole person for him since he’s 3 but he made sure to make him special food. His presentation is amazing and he’s very clean and efficient. He came and started dinner exactly at 7 and served all the dishes in order. He even brings his own plates and silverware so you don’t need to clean your own plates. His service and food are wonderful. Then he took less than an hour and cleaned and left your kitchen like he was never there. Highly recommend him!

Chef Vasily put together a great menu which was throughly enjoyed by our group. The food and presentation was excellent. His top notch service was seamless from set up to clean up. He communicated well and allowed us the time to make final selections based on some changing attendance. Experienced pro who I would highly recommend for your dinner and would hire again myself.
