Authentic Southeast Asian dishes with a historical flare!
Born in Malaysia, raised in Singapore with a mixed Indian roots, known as Punjabi with Indonesian influence due to my mother’s origins. Been proud growing up among the asian diversity and travelling to many close geographical locations like Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Laos, and India. Lived in Singapore, Thailand for 7 years and later in Cambodia, Portugal and Poland for some years. I also discovered an ability to be able to replicate & pick up any recipes i see. After gaining culture and food flavors from Asia, now i am a travelling chef who does cooking workshops, private dining events in Poland, Czech, France, Portugal and now in Zurich, Switzerland. My mission is to travel to as many places to share my love of food, and it's history to as many people as possible in an affordable fine dining experience, cooking classes or private cooking services.
My cooking experiences has been with variety of organizations and establishments starting in Poland like Centrum Aktywnosci Spolecznej Bialystok, Atuty Studio Kulinarne, Cookup Warsaw, Eperfetto, Look&Cook Poland, Pop ups events at Malacca Too in Portugal, Princessa do Castelo Lisbon, Neighbourhood cafe Lisbon, and Niceway Hostel Cascais, collaboration with chefs like Maciej Tomaszewski, owner of Sztuka Miesa Restaurant, Chef Lukaz, Chef Martin from Atelier French Restaurant Prague, and Frederic Weltin a private chef in France to name a few. We were very satisfied by the experience and although it’s not for everyday occasions, I can see us organizing again in the future. Being our first time, many things to learn here; there is no one size fits all approach and eventually the package results from all different dimensions (menu, variety, quality, cleanliness, professionalism) are unique to each individual chef. It boils down to expectations. I for one wanted to have a full service, where a chef would come over and, while clearly using our kitchen, bring everything needed to deliver the experience (ie food, ingredients, pans and bowls as required, mise en place, etc). While my wife and I (I’ve organized it as a surprise for her birthday) deeply enjoyed the food and explanations from our valiant chef, I’ve had a mixed feeling for having had to provide pans/bowls etc and mise en place (I’ve actually had to set the table myself). I think that these are things that everyone has to consider for themselves: I was expecting a more end to end service (it is a unique experience and the prices on the platform are not exactly cheap). Fully happy with our dining, the aspects related to preparing, bringing equipment (serving wine...) are all things that the platform should do a better job at clarifying since the very beginning (ie do you have pans that the chef can use? Do you want and end to end service including table set up, wine serving, etc?). All this would tremendously help creating an ever smoother experience, without ‘surprises in the surprise’ and have the confidence of full transparency at all steps. We are all very busy and this platform should therefore help not only to connect people, but to drive transparency on expectations, so that one can fully enjoy the dining experience other than having to think about operational aspects during the experience.

She did an excellent job cooking, preparing on different plates and bowls, explaining the ingredients and left the kitchen cleaned perfectly.

Veena was extremely kind and professional, She prepared for us a dinner with influences from many south eastern Asian countries and customized the preparations to our taste. The food was simply delicious, with a gorgeous presentation and Veena guided us with interesting stories about the dishes.

We had a lovely dinner prepared by Veena. We chose an Asian menu to enjoy again the flavors we have been tasted while living in Asia. Everything went spotless, with Veena also preparing a separate and easier menu for our kids.
