Get to know me better

I am like a child who feels so happy each time I start cooking as if I am given a new toy everyday.

I’ve been cooking for a long time, but I am still learning to be a good chef. I’m always learning new techniques and improving beyond my knowledge because there is always something new to learn and new horizons to discover.

The art of spicing in south Asian cuisine is arguably very complex. In the sub-continent cooking relies on the knowledge of the way spices work together. Aside from flavor, it’s important to consider the texture and the sequence in which the spices are added and mixed and how long they are cooked for.

I started cooking when I was 10, I used to spend time watching my mother cooking, and the most exciting was going grocery shopping. Back in the days those tiny little grocery shops tucked away in an obscure lane were something special and each shop had a very distinctive smell of its own, the shopkeeper would measure each item one by one from a small note in my mother's hand, pack them one by one for me to put in the bag and the best part was to go back home and unpack those ingredients and watch my mother cook. Those colorful spices displayed on the sacks were so fascinating and each spice had this beautiful smell, probably people may not believe but I can still smell them. :). That's where my love for food is from. All those flavors and ingredients bring back those amazing childhood memories.

Besides home food, eating street food and exploring new outlets is a serious hobby and passion for me. From Asian Subcontinent, Middle East, or Europe, I have been fortunate to experience some amazing food and culture and learn the art of flavors and ingredients.

I have been training and practicing my cooking for more than 25 years, experimenting with different kinds of cuisines especially, the Asian subcontinent and Middle Eastern cuisine. I can prepare a long list of delicious dishes, Appetisers, Main courses, and Desserts.

I still cook almost every day and I love it when my family and friends enjoy a good meal. I have trained myself to cook for up to 50 people at a time. I passionately invite people at home and treat them to different kinds of feasts and love hosting lunches, dinners, barbecues, and cultural day dishes at my home.
